Health insurance is not common in Uganda. Fortunately we found a health insurance organisation called Save for Health Uganda. (www.shu.org.ug).
Thanks to this organisation it is possible to insure 12 children who live in Masaka. They have an insurance card and with this card they can get free medical help in the Kitovu Hospital in Masaka.(www.kitovu-hospital.org)
The twelve children joining this program are: Brenda, Joanitah, Jireh, Daniel,Hannah, Owen, Apollo’s children Ron, Rita and Ruben and Henry’s children Hillary, Hilda and Helenah.
This insurance program is only meant for the children who live in Masaka, the other children live too far away to participate. Of course the Joanne Foundation covers their medical bills.
